LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy
A safe, supportive space to explore who you are and how you want to live
I offer LGBTQ+ affirming therapy for individuals and couples navigating questions of identity, relationships, family, belonging, and personal growth.
My approach is grounded in the belief that you do not need to change who you are to be healthy or whole. Therapy can provide a space to explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, particularly when you have encountered rejection, discrimination, misunderstanding, or pressure to conform to expectations that do not fit who you are.
I work with clients across the LGBTQ+ spectrum, including people who are exploring or affirming their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, as well as those navigating coming out, transition, relationship changes, family dynamics, or other significant life transitions.
Exploring identity and relationships
For many LGBTQ+ clients, personal identity and relationships are deeply intertwined. Therapy can help you:
Develop greater self-acceptance and confidence
Navigate coming out or changes in identity and relationships
Process experiences of rejection, discrimination, or minority stress
Work through family or cultural expectations and conflicts
Strengthen relationships while staying connected to your authentic self
Explore gender, sexuality, and identity without judgment or assumptions
Develop greater emotional regulation and resilience
I also work with couples and families who are navigating changes related to sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. My goal is to create a space where each person can feel heard, respected, and understood while working toward healthier and more secure relationships.
A trauma-informed approach
For clients who have experienced trauma, shame, rejection, or chronic stress, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy can also provide an opportunity to understand how those experiences may continue to affect the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self.
I draw from attachment-based therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, and nervous-system-focused approaches, tailoring treatment to each person's needs and goals.
You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Whether you're seeking support through a specific transition or simply want a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, therapy can be a place to explore what feels most authentic and meaningful to you.
